Unzip Your Imagination Metal Wall Art

Unzip Your Imagination Metal Wall Art

A bold panel unzips down the middle and out bursts a rocket, a big leaf, a palette and a brush. It invites students to open up and let ideas fly.

Unzip Your Imagination is an original design from The India Decor, cut from a single sheet of steel so the whole artwork hangs as one connected piece. It is made for schools, colleges and learning centres, and it is just as much at home in a living room, study or office.

The design story

The artwork shows a solid panel being unzipped to reveal a rocket, a big leaf, a paint palette and a paintbrush. Every line was drawn to read clearly as a silhouette, so the scene stays recognisable from across the room and casts a soft shadow onto the wall behind it, adding depth through the day as the light changes.

• Zip opening: a chunky zipper and pull tab
• Ideas burst out: rocket, leaf, palette and brush
• Bold, readable shapes: no fragile hair-thin parts, so the piece keeps its form at every size

Where it suits

Great for creative studios, activity rooms, primary schools and kids' centres. It adds energy to a plain classroom wall.

Schools want walls that inspire without distracting. This silhouette carries a clear message that students, teachers and visiting parents understand at a glance, and its matte finish stays easy on the eyes in bright classrooms. It suits reception areas, libraries, staff rooms and corridors, and makes a meaningful gift from a graduating batch or alumni group.

Popular spots include school reception and foyers; libraries and reading rooms; corridors and staircases; and classrooms and staff rooms.

Material and finish

The piece is precision laser-cut from steel and finished in a matte black powder coat. The matte black tone gives a crisp contrast on white, cream, pastel, grey and wooden walls, and the powder coat resists fading and everyday scuffs far better than painted wood or printed canvas. It sits slightly off the wall for a light floating look.

Choosing a size

Unzip Your Imagination comes in four landscape sizes: 25 x 18, 33 x 24, 44 x 32, 66 x 48 inch.

• 25 x 18 inch: a compact accent for a desk-side wall, a narrow pillar or a cosy corner
• 33 x 24 inch: fits above a side table, console or small counter
• 44 x 32 inch: a confident centrepiece above a sofa, bench or reception desk
• 66 x 48 inch: a true statement for large feature walls, lobbies and double-height spaces

As a rule of thumb, choose a width of about two-thirds of the furniture below it, and hang the centre of the artwork near eye level, around 57 to 60 inches from the floor.

Care

Dust it with a soft dry cloth. For marks, use a slightly damp cloth and dry it straight away. Avoid abrasive pads, polish and harsh chemicals so the powder coat keeps its even finish.
